Biography

Egor Shokoladov (b. 1990, Grodno, Belarus) is an artist based in Hillsboro, Oregon. He earned an MFA in Visual Arts from Yanka Kupala State University and works in graphic art and traditional printmaking, while also experimenting with mixed media and materials. His works are held in galleries, museums, and private collections across Europe, Asia, and the United States. Since moving to the U.S. in 2020, he has been represented by Northwind Arts Center and Davidson Galleries in WA, and has presented solo exhibitions at Peninsula College in Port Angeles, WA, and Low Fence Horse Sense Gallery in Port Townsend, WA. His work has also been shown in more than one hundred juried and group exhibitions and art fairs in the U.S. and internationally, and has been commissioned for public art projects in Washington and Oregon, including a mural in Hillsboro. His recognitions include multiple People’s Choice Awards and jury prizes in the U.S. and Germany. Shokoladov is a member of the California Society of Printmakers and the Society of American Graphic Artists.

Artist Statement

My works are constructed through the internal logic of the scene. I am interested in the moment when a character or object fuses with its role and begins to take shape through what it does. I build each composition so that it unfolds gradually rather than revealing itself at once. It is important to me to preserve sincerity in the image, even when humor, absurdity, and inner nerve coexist within it. For me, details are what hold the world of the work together, sustaining its dimension and multilayeredness.
