Originally from a small cozy town of Grodno, Eastern Europe, I have been expressing my thoughts and impressions about the world using pencils, printmaking, paint and mixed media as long as I can possibly remember myself.

An internal dialogue of an introvert is the
tuning fork of my work ranging from internal vibrations to external
comprehension of life.
I am lining up this dialogue using the
limitless possibilities of metamodernism, which allow for creation of a context
of duality and a combination of opposing approaches - utopianism and
pragmatism, the simple and the extraordinary, intellectual seriousness and
play, search for support and conscious vulnerability.
I construct the way to myself like a temple;
I take my path to it through the inner stage and converse with the viewer on
behalf of my personages, which highlight various traits of my personality using
the conditions of the storyline. My works can be “read” as a fairy tale, as a
myth, or as instructions for the unpacking, in which the story is gradually
revealed, “unwrapping” the viewer and myself.
The process of engraving or drawing is a
long meditative process, comparable to self-discovery - as in life, on a white "sheet"
we begin to create from the first touch, gradually adding elements.
Feeling the fluctuations of the outside world, looking at its blurry edges and entropy, at people seeking beacons among a chaotic abundance of information, I create a pivot for myself and others with the help of detailing.
Paying close attention to details, I invite the viewer to explore all parts of the story behind each of my artistic pieces with me. This is how the ancient printmaking process gains relevance today. This is how the game is set, creating a means through which the viewer can discover themselves.
Originally from a small cozy town in Eastern Europe, Egor Shokoladov has been expressing his thoughts and impressions about the world through art as long as he can possibly remember himself.
He received his education at the School of Fine Arts, in the class with emphasis on art at the Lyceum, at Yanka Kupala State University in the Master of Arts program with specialty in Visual Art and Computer Graphics as well as in several artist residencies.
During the process of his creative exploration, Egor has identified the style and techniques he has enjoyed creating in the most - metamodernism reflected in graphics implemented in vintage printmaking techniques and experiments with mixed media and materials.
Egor’s work can be found in galleries, museums and private collections in Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, China, the United States, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Russia, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine.
In 2020, Egor has moved to the United States. Since then his work has been a part of the Artist Showcase at the Northwind Arts Center in Port Townsend, WA, and more recently has been added to the Contemporary Printmaking Art Inventory at the Davidson Galleries in Seattle, WA.
In 2022, Egor’s art was presented in a solo exhibition at PUB Gallery of Art of Peninsula College in Port Angeles, WA, and he participated in more than 75 selected group exhibitions and juried shows all over the United States and internationally. In addition, 3 of his works were selected for public art projects in the state of Washington.
His most recent successes include 3 People’s Choice Awards at the juried exhibitions at Northwind Arts Center in Port Townsend, WA, 2nd Prize Award in the Category "Prize of the Jury” at Deutsche Exlibris-Gesellschaft eV (DEG) International Competition 2022 in Moers, Germany, and 3rd Place Winner at the juried show at d’Art Center in Norfolk, VA.
Egor is an official member of the California Society of Printmakers (CSP) and Society of American Graphic Artists (SAGA).
